A magnificent antique Chinese hand-carved yellow jade mythical beast, representing a Bixie (辟邪) — a powerful celestial creature believed to ward off evil and attract fortune. Sculpted from dense, finely polished yellow and russet nephrite jade, this figure displays an exceptional combination of archaic strength and organic naturalism.

The stone's warm honey-golden tone with russet veining and natural calcification evokes centuries of burial and mineral absorption. The creature's stylized body, curled tail, and open jaws reflect Ming to early Qing Dynasty design (circa 1600-1700), when mythical guardian beasts were prized for both imperial and spiritual significance.

Visible age lines, old surface weathering, and natural fissures confirm genuine antiquity, while small chips to claws and fangs are consistent with its age and ritual use. Despite these, the carving retains commanding presence — a symbol of protection, power, and prosperity.
