About Kutani Porcelain
Kutani ware is celebrated for its bright overglaze enamels—especially iron-red, green, yellow, and blue—and for its hand-painted floral and landscape subjects. Pieces from this era show the transition from traditional Meiji painting to early modern Japanese export work.
A charming and decorative example of late 19th century hand-painted Kutani porcelain.
