Chinese Porcelain Imari Lidded Jars Pair – Kangxi Mark Vintage Vases

$50,000.00

A superb matched pair of Chinese porcelain lidded ginger jars, exquisitely hand-painted in the Kangxi Revival style, bearing a six-character "Da Qing Kangxi Nian Zhi" reign mark to the base. Executed during the late Qing to early Republic period (circa 1890-1915), these jars exemplify the refined artistry and export luxury wares produced for elite European collectors at the turn of the century.

Rendered in a rich Imari-inspired palette of deep cobalt blue, iron red, emerald green, and hand-applied gilt, each jar features highly detailed floral reserves depicting blossoming wisteria, chrysanthemum, and peony — emblems of longevity, nobility, and eternal renewal in Chinese decorative symbolism. The borders are enhanced with scrolling gilt tendrils and stylized cloud motifs, demonstrating both technical mastery and aesthetic delicacy.

The domed lids terminate in elegant knop finials, and each piece retains its original hand-fitted cover, an attribute often lost over time. The interior glaze pooling, natural firing imperfections, and honest footrim wear attest to authentic age and traditional kiln production practices of the late imperial era.

Pieces of this quality and symmetry were typically commissioned as prestige export wares, often displayed in grand European salons and manor collections. Matched pairs, especially with gilt still intact and marks well-preserved, are increasingly scarce on the market.

A refined and highly decorative pair — suitable for discerning collectors, interior designers, or museum display.
