Offered is an antique Japanese lacquer plate, decorated in gold maki-e with cranes in flight among pine branches, set against a deep red lacquer ground. The elegant composition and symbolic imagery represent longevity, harmony, and good fortune, themes long favored in Japanese decorative arts.

The decoration is executed using traditional maki-e techniques, with finely brushed gold detailing and subtle tonal variation. The pine needles display delicate line work, while the cranes are rendered in multiple dynamic poses, creating movement and balance across the surface.

The reverse features a recessed circular foot, finished in red lacquer. There is minor lacquer loss along a small section of the foot rim, consistent with age and use.
