Antique Chinese Rose Medallion Plate 19thC Famille Rose Raised Enamel Export
Authentic 19th-century Chinese Export Rose Medallion plate, hand-painted in finely raised Famille Rose enamel, featuring alternating panels of court figures, birds, butterflies, and peony flowers, symbolizing prosperity and noble feminine beauty. The central medallion depicts a shou peony bouquet, surrounded by dense gilt-outlined scroll borders typical of high-quality Qing export ware.
These pieces were hand-painted for the American and European market during the mid-late Qing Dynasty, circa 1860-1890 (Tongzhi-Guangxu period). The plate shows the correct early firing imperfections and unmarked back associated with traditional export production.
