A striking antique Chinese blue and white porcelain temple jar, hand-painted in rich cobalt underglaze with a lively Foo Lion (Shishi guardian) surrounded by peony floral scrolls, symbols of prosperity and nobility in Qing court culture.

This example features an unusual pierced incense lid, historically used to diffuse fragrance or potpourri in a scholar's studio or ceremonial interior. The jar is further enhanced with applied sculpted butterfly handles, representing joy and transformation — a rare and desirable feature on pieces of this type.

The surface displays tight ruyi scrollwork and chrysanthemum medallion patterns, executed with fine brush control consistent with late Qing Dynasty / Guangxu-era kiln work (circa 1880-1910). Natural kiln speckling, slight firing flaws, and footrim wear are consistent with age and traditional production and add to the authenticity and character of the piece.

A decorative and collector-worthy example of Qing Revival porcelain — ideal for curated interior display, Asian art collectors, or high-end design styling.
