Antique Chinese Blue & White Lotus Dish, Qianlong Style Mark, c1900

$185.00

A fine antique Chinese blue and white porcelain dish, hand-painted with scrolling lotus and chrysanthemum blossoms in soft cobalt blue against a pale celadon-tinged ground. The brushwork displays elegant diffusion, with the borders and florals rendered in a flowing rhythmic style associated with late Qing to early Republic era kilns (circa 1880-1920).

The base bears a four-character apocryphal reign-style mark in tribute to earlier Qing imperial wares, commonly used by export workshops during the Qianlong revival aesthetic of the early 20th century. Three crescent-shaped cobalt brush marks are present around the foot — a charming kiln annotation characteristic of hand-fired porcelain, not found on later transfer-printed wares.

The glaze shows the correct kiln pooling, fine firing speckles, and natural foot patina, consistent with age. This piece displays beautifully and would sit perfectly within a curated chinoiserie vignette, collector's cabinet, or blue-and-white arrangement.
